Hidden jewels abound in Hancock County, West Virginia! Among these jewels is Camp Aura, located off of Ross Road near New Cumberland. This 50 acre facility, which includes the equine arena, was donated to the Hancock County 4-H Foundation in the mid-70s by Bob Herron and named for his mother, “Aura.” Camp Aura has hosted equestrian shows, small festivals and other events for more than 30 years.

Families and horse lover alike are drawn to Camp Aura for horse shows and equestrian events, many of which are sponsored by the Sundowners 4-H Saddle Club and the Camp Aura Committee. Camp Aura traditionally has been supported over the years by area business, fund raisers, and through the hard work of many faithful volunteers.

The equine arena is surrounded by the warm and beautiful hills of West Virginia. Over the years, horse lovers from the tri-state area have enjoyed equestrian events held in the show ring. Camp Aura even offers riding trails during 4-H functions, with plenty of available trailer parking. If you live nearby...come on horseback! Camp Aura is a non-profit 4-H facility and all proceeds are returned to its operation. This is a smoke and alcohol free facility.
